Top Ten Learn To Skate Tips
- Be on time! It typically takes 30-45 minutes to get all of your skating gear on and be ready to hit the ice. Do not miss a minute of your class and all the fun!!!
- Dress properly for skating. Wear clothing that is easy to move around in.
- Dress in warm clothing, (layering is good) and be sure to wear gloves.
- If you use rental skates, be sure to wear a thin sock and start with a skate that is a size smaller than your shoe.
- Visit the Ice & Golf Center's Pro-Shop if you have any equipment questions or need advice.
- Practice as much as possible. Take advantage of your discount card for public sessions. You are not going to improve without practice.
- If you feel that you have been incorrectly placed, either in a class that is too hard or too easy, let your teacher know.
- Remember your teacher's name and where your class is on the ice. Teachers will have name tags and your lesson area will be marked.
